We will do lean training together on two farms in UK
Tuesday, March 31:
We fly in to Bristol Airport during the afternoon. You need to book your flight yourself. When you know your arrival time, write to us so we can travel together to the hotel. We will stay at Best Western Plus Swan Hotel, Somerset.
We will have dinner together at the hotel at 7 pm and we will have a get-together meeting after dinner.
Wednesday, April 1:
In the morning we have presentations from participants from several countries. We provide sparring and learning from each other.
In the afternoon we train some Lean tools. We go and see at Farmer Kari Dunford and make the make the Value Stream Mapping in the evening.
Thursday, April 2:
In the morning we will go to Farmer Jane Targetts farm. We will take her challenge and train appropriate Lean tools to address this challenge.
In the afternoon, we will make the Lean Workshop and final discussion.
We will finish at 3 pm and then go for Bristol Airport.
The first farmer is Kari Dunford, She runs a spring calving unit of 224 cows producing 4900 litres at 4.58% butterfat and 3.62% protein. The system is based on a simplified system with cows out grazing for 9/10 months per year.
The second farmer is Jane Targett. She runs a high yielding intensive dairy herd of 450 cows averaging 10500 litres.
On both farms we will start with their biggest challenge in the production right now.
Price and registration
The price for participating in 2.5 half days is 430 £ (515 €). The price includes hotel, all meals and transport to the farms as well as cover clothes. If you want to sleep in a single room there is a supplement of 30 £ (36 €).
